The SINA ARB Plug-in

Use SINA from within the ARB editor!

A SINA Plug-in is offered for the ARB software release 5.1 or later. It gives you full access to the advanced alignment technology of the SILVA project from within the ARB editor!

Just few files provided by Ribocon have to be copied to your local ARB installation directory (fully supported by Ribocon) and the SINA interface will become available.


How to get it (license options)

  • Standard license for a single stand-alone system (desktop or workstation). Perpetual license for EUR 580.00 (excl. VAT) - no restrictions (number of sequences/users) except that no remote access is included (no parallel usage). Please contact us for the detailed end-user license agreement. 
  • Extended server licenses for parallel usage/remote access. Please contact us for more information. We offer different corresponding license models to fulfill your specific requirements.

 

The aligner has some specific system dependencies and has been tested and adapted for the common Linux distributions. In no case we will charge any license fees before the aligner has been successfully integrated into your local ARB system.

The most standardized procedure is the integration into our Opens internal link in current windowARBuntu system (the automatic Linux+ARB installation DVD) which has been optimized for easy SINA integration. But of course we support addition to your own local ARB installation in the same manner.

 

If a new version of the aligner becomes available and you possess a valid license, you will automatically get the update without any extra costs. But please note that there is no regular release cycle of the aligner.

After integration of the SINA ARB Plug-in, you have access to the comprehensive SINA menu which offers several addititional functions compared to the ARB-internal Fastaligner.

  • Much better accuracy
  • Use any (!) reference dataset (pt-server) for aligning sequences in your current database
  • Fine-tuning by modification of alignment scores
  • Decide how to treat overhangs
