Free Software for Exploration of Genomic Data

JCoast is a comprehensive and powerful software tool for data mining, comparative genomics and advanced annotations. It represents the window into your sets of processed genomic data and offers maximum freedom, independent from your current level of bioinformatics skills.

  • easy installation, minimum hardware requirements
  • intuitive to use, tremendous functionality
  • published in a peer-reviewed journal

If you provide your sequence reads (see Opens internal link in current windowStandard Service), you get back the processed data in a way which allows direct usage by JCoast. There is no way to make genome analysis more elegant ...

  • the software is under constant development and maintenance
  • the Ribocon services include full technical support

JCoast is completely free of charge (GNU General Public License).

Why does Ribocon participate in an open software project?

Simply because we don't intend to reinvent the wheel. There are dozens of similar software solutions available. The main bottleneck of genome analysis is rather represented by missing hard/software infrastructure in terms of data preparation. Therefore, we focus on this part to close existing gaps instead of setting up another proprietary software tool for final data mining.

We actively participate in the development and maintenance of the free JCoast software and in combination we can offer an integrated solution from initial data analysis to final delivery of the results.

JCoast has been chosen because it has a clear focus on the requirements of biologists and follows the philosophy to make the user independent from advanced technological platforms.
